Building A History Of The Village Of Marstons Mills
_______________________________________________________________
WANTED ! ! ~ Anything Old About Marstons Mills !
We are planning to build pages here on the Marstons Mills web site about various aspects of life in the Village as it was in the past.

While there certainly would be pages on things such as the Burgess House, the Marstons, the mills themselves and other well known facets, we would also like to show things of an everyday nature and about everyday people that might be of general interest as well.

Our objective is to try to paint a picture of the Village, as it has been over time, by displaying items that show or describe life in days gone by. And we want to share all that with as many people as we can by presenting it here on the Village's web site.

Note: In addition to many locals, our web site is viewed by people from all around the country as well [we know because they write to us]. These are people who have either lived or vacationed here or who have friends or family here.

What We Need
We would like to hear about anything you might have [or know about] that is from the past, is related to the Village of Marstons Mills, and can be displayed [one way or another] on the web.

That would be virtually anything that is on paper such as photographs, posters, letters or postcards [those of, sent from or sent to the Village], advertisements, brochures, paintings, newspaper clippings, etc.

Additionally, any physical object you have that we could take a picture of [we would do the photography], as well as any audio or video recordings [cassette or any other recordings, any films, movies etc. ~ regardless of format].

If you're not sure if what you have is of value to this project, tell us about it anyway!

While some oral histories of local people have been recorded in the past, if you know of someone that has not provided one of these and is a long-term resident of the Village we would like to talk to them as well.

Also, even if you don't have something in your possession but know of someone who does [especially someone who doesn't have access to the Internet and would not see this] talk to them and explain what we are looking for.

What We'll Do
We will copy what you have and immediately return the originals to you. We are in a collection mode right now, so it's hard to say when your items would be displayed, but when we do we'll give you credit for providing them.

We hope to start rolling out these pages by Fall 2002, but we need your help now by supplying us with the materials!

How To Contact Us
Just send an e-mail the address below with your name, telephone and brief description of what you have and we'll contact you. Thanks for your help!
