The Village Center
School House
Pictured: This is the School House which was located where the Village Garage now stands.
History: Built in the late 1880's, it is presumed to have been constructed by the same group which erected the
Today: The building was moved up to Route 28/Falmouth Road and became a part of the John-Lawrence Funeral Home.
Source: This photo is from a postcard titled "School House, Marstons Mills, Mass" and it was postally used.
It was sent to "Mr Ernest Cameron, So. Sandwich, Mass" postmarked September 30, 1910 at
South Sandwich, Mass and also the same date at Marstons Mills, Mass.
The correspondence on the card reads: "Don't come down before Sun night with out calling me up before 8 will you.
Bed seems to be calling me early these nights. Have lots to say but it can wait. E.P.M".
An annotation on the front says: "1935 36 last class".
