The <A HREF="id356.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Library"><U>Marstons Mills Public Library</U></A> would be to your right.</div> <div> The building to the left is the <A HREF="id358.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="Post Office"><U>Post Office</U></A>, the house in the center is the Hinckley House and the small building to the right</div> <div> is the Watch Repair Shop. The village pump [to the right of the telephone pole in the center] is still in this location today. </div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000CC" FACE="Arial" ><B>History:</B></FONT><B>  </B>This watch repair shop was run by the father of Dr. James Haydn Higgins and was located</div> <div> on the property which was owned by him at the time.</div> <div> When [then] Cotuit Road was widened, the Hinckley house was split apart and moved. The main portion was moved</div> <div> up the road to 211 Route 149 and was demolished in 2003 to make way for a new office building.</div> <div> A large ell was attached to the nearby <A HREF="id357.htm" TARGET="_top" TITLE="William Marston House"><U>William Marston House</U></A>, then owned by Dr. Higgins, and he used it as his office.</div> <div> That was later moved again to a knoll on that property to become the home of Priscilla Higgins, the niece of the Doctor. </div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000CC" FACE="Arial" ><B>Today:</B></FONT><B>  </B>This shop was situated in what is now part of the Village Square, where the war memorials are located.  </div> <bR> <div> <FONT SIZE="2" COLOR="#0000CC" FACE="Arial" ><B>Source:</B></FONT><B>  </B>This photo is from a postcard which is untitled and was postally unused.</div> <div> An annotation the front says:  "4/10 '07". An annotation on the back says:  "1936 comments.
